Welcome to Newport School of Hairdressing
Dear Future Salon Professional,
Congratulations – you’ve just taken the first step to a beautiful future!
We emphasize training our students to meet state requirements. The instructors and staff at our school are committed to high standards of teaching. At Newport School of Hairdressing, we strive to go beyond the basics every day.
We’re also proud not to affiliate ourselves with one-product companies. Beauty schools like Redken, Toni & Guy, Paul Mitchell and Aveda are known as “Product Schools.” Their focus is to train you in using only their product line so when you leave school you will only use and sell their product. They also want you to think that they offer you a better education than we do or even a better job. This is absolutely not true at all! In fact, very few salons use only one product line.
You deserve a “complete” education. One that is fun! Where beauty, Science and art comes together to give you a quality education possible, with no emphasis on just one product.
And because we are not a “one-product school” we partner with many different product companies as well as local and national salons. This gives our graduates an opportunity to be employed at many locations throughout the world, from a family affordable salon to an upscale salon or spa focusing on a brand that’s just right for you.
Our single focus is not selling products, but your success as a highly marketable and sought-after beauty professional with great skills. We don’t own salons! We don’t own a product line! What we do own is an educational facility designed to prepare you for an extraordinary career. We care about your training!
For over 40 years Newport School of Hairdressing has placed hundreds of its highly trained graduates from Rhode Island and Massachusetts in the Salon & Spa Industry. Our graduates work at or own many of the top salons in the surrounding areas.
OUR TRAINING MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Newport School of Hairdressing is a “Nationally Accredited” beauty school. This means the school has been examined by a team of outside experts and meets high standards. Our school offers extensive hands-on training and combined services over many clients every week. It’s this kind of practice that gives Newport School of Hairdressing students the competitive edge and sets apart from your typical beauty school. We don’t associate ourselves with one product line (like Redken, Paul Mitchell, Aveda, or Toni & Guy). We train our students to use many of the top beauty products. Salons don’t like the “One Size Fits All” teaching method. The beauty industry is full of wonderful “lotions & potions.” Professional representatives continuously visit our schools to give students advanced training. We have Lifetime Placement Service. Our tuition is affordable and includes your books and equipment. We are independently owned so we don’t have to pay franchise fees to a product company.
